Community Invited to Shape the Future of Jamestown’s “Rails with Trails” Project

Jamestown, CA – October 10, 2025 – The public is invited to attend the Community Visioning Forum for the Rails with Trails – Jamestown initiative on Thursday, October 16, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at 18141 Main Street, Jamestown.

Led by the Jamestown Happiness Project, in partnership with the Tuolumne County Transportation Council (TCTC) and Blue Zones Project – Tuolumne (BZP), this event marks a key milestone in the Strategic Growth Council–funded planning phase, which has been underway for the past two years.

This interactive forum invites residents, families, and outdoor enthusiasts to help shape the vision for Jamestown’s Rails with Trails initiative — an exciting effort to blend the area’s rich rail heritage with new opportunities for recreation, connection, and community wellness.

Attendees will have the chance to:

·       Learn more about the proposed Rails with Trails concept

·       Share ideas, feedback, and hopes for the project’s future

·       Collaborate with community leaders and local organizations

All ages are welcome, and refreshments will be provided.

“This is about more than creating a trail — it’s about building a shared vision for Jamestown’s future,” said a project representative. “We want to hear from the people who live, work, and play here.”

About The Chicken Ranch Rancheria Me-Wuk Indians of California

Nestled in the foothills of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains in Tuolumne County, the Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians is a federally recognized tribe with a rich history marked by triumph over adversity. The ancestral territories of the Me-Wuk natives thrived within the picturesque regions of Table Mountain to the rolling hills of the lower Red Hills area.

In 1985, the Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians received federal recognition as an autonomous Native American Tribe of California. To become economically self-sufficient, they opened one of the first Native bingo halls in California. Since 1985, they have expanded the bingo hall into their currently operating casino, Chicken Ranch Casino as well as opened a Medical Clinic, Mathiesen Memorial Health Clinic, Jamestown Hotel and Chicken Ranch Casino Resort. Opened in July 2024, Chicken Ranch Casino Resort features 197 hotel rooms and suites, a collection of restaurants and bars and 12,000 square feet of event space. In addition, the Chicken Ranch Tribe of Me-Wuk Indians, in partnership with Vetnos LLC, launched Playbawk, a revolutionary Class II bingo-based sports theme mobile app exclusively available for use within the Chicken Ranch Rancheria property.
